Robin Hood, along with the nearby station at Rothwell, held the dubious record of being possible the shortest lived passengers stations on the British railway network. The East and West Yorkshire Union Railway was principally a joint colliery line, and the passenger services started in 1904 only lasted about six months before the Rothwell to Leeds Tramway took the traffic away. So it is 115 years since regular passenger services ran here, though coal trains continued for another fifty years.
