Built in 1936, this building replaced the original Moorburn House that once stood here. In the 1970s it was bought by the district council for use as their local offices. After the building became surplus to North Ayrshire Council’s requirements it was put on the market in 2008 for a knockdown price, creating much controversy in the town. Moorburn House was sold in 2009 and is now a private residence.
