According to the plaque at the base, this sculpture on Paisley's Lawn Street was made from "discarded wooden cable reel drum, motorcycle tyres, scrap metal and old metal wheelbarrow", and it celebrates the Coccinellids (ladybirds), though that scientific name does not mean "little sphere", as the plaque claims, but is from a word meaning "scarlet". This is one of two sculptures on the trail that replace earlier Easter-themed works (see the end-note); for the other new one, see Image As it happens, I find real ladybirds an interesting subject for photography: Image / Image / Image / Image / Image / Image / Image / Image
