The name of this road (which sets it apart from others on the estate, named after butterflies) is explained by the fact that the access road to the long-defunct Sandbach Waterworks used this alignment, as evidenced by the 1930s OS map. Note - location is estimated from the development site plan, as the road is too new to be shown on public maps yet.
