The memorial lies on the ground in the graveyard of the former chapel. https://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/6205173 It appears to be cemented together with some old headstones and treated with total disrespect. It bears eight names and details of the men lost in the Great War. Ernest R. Whiting, 7th Suffolk Regt. Killed in France 7th Oct 1915, Age 28. Son of James and Emma Whiting. William H. G. Harling, 4th Suffolk Regt. Killed in France 3rd March 1916, Age 21. Albert J. Harling, 12th Durham Light Infantry. Killed in France 7th Oct 1916, Age 23. Bertie Cracknell, 2nd Australian Infantry, A.I.F. Killed in France 17th August 1916, Age 25, Son of Fred and Mary Ann Cracknell. Septimus Geo. Elmer, 13th Royal Fusiliers. Killed in France 21st Feb. 1917, age 27, Son of the late John F and Martha F. Elmer. Barker L. Smith, 5th Suffolk Regt. Died of wounds at Jerusalem, 14th March 1918, age 18. Buried on the Mount of Olives. William H. Knights, 2nd Lancashire Fusiliers. Killed in France 23rd April 1918, age 19. Son of William and Mary C. Knights of Thorpeness. Ernest Adams, 2nd Cambridgeshire Regt. Killed in France 22nd Aug, 1918, age 32. Husband of Millie Adams of Ipswich. "All that they had hoped for. All they had they gave, to save Mankind - Themselves they scorned to save."
