This prehistoric standing stone is the largest and heaviest in Cornwall. It probably dates from the late Neolithic or early Bronze Age (around 2500 - 1500 BC). Formed from local stone, Devonian shale veined with feldspar, it weighs about 16½ tons, is 4·9 metres long and stands within a low cairn.
