Mellerstain House viewed from across the lake in its grounds. Mellerstain is an outstanding Georgian country house built during two stages. In 1725 Scottish architect William Adam designed the two wings, later in 1778 the large central block was completed by his more famous son, Robert Adam. Mellerstain is Category A Listed and is the home of the earls of Haddington.
