The grand looking building which houses "Fish Loves Chips" at Hesketh Bank, carries a coat of arms with the motto "Decus Prudentiæ Merces", meaning "honour is the reward of prudence" (see Image]). This was the motto of the District Bank which merged with the National Westminster (later NatWest) Bank in the late 1960s.
