There are several old church buildings in this part of the town. A site visitor informs "This is St Augustine's Episcopal Church, 1871-71, by Sir Robert Rowand Anderson. Charles Rennie Mackintosh, Art Nouveau architect, married Margaret MacDonald here in 1899."
