The 1893 fountain in Church Square is the work of sculptor Peter Smith. The inscription reads: PRESENTED TO THE BURGH OF INVERARAY BY THE REV'D NIEL MACPHERSON M.A. MINISTER OF THE PARISH 1893 "HE SENDETH THE SPRINGS INTO THE VALLEYS WHICH RUN AMONG THE HILLS"
