Matlock Road is a cul-de-sac which was constructed in the early 1900s when the Grove House Estate was purchased for residential purposes. The frontage was developed as large terrace house building with the road leading through the centre. Thorpe House > https://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/6193203 can be seen in the background.
