This roof garden is enclosed in patterned screens which give varying light effects through the day. Half way up the screens is a ribbon of marble carved with calligrapic Muslim quotations, from the Qur'an and Persian poets. We were told that the trees are magnolias of a variety suitable for planting in shallow soil. Guided tours during Open Garden Squares Weekend included this garden.
