The shaft of the cross is Medieval as possibly is the base. The crosspiece was restored in the late 19th or early 20th century. Listed, grade II, with details at: https://historicengland.org.uk/listing/the-list/list-entry/1207672 The large church of St John the Baptist has its origins in the 12th century and some work remains. There were alterations in the 13th century and extensive alterations and additions in the 15th century including the tower. Restored in 1864. The church has some fine fittings including an outstanding late 15th century chantry chapel. Listed, grade I, with details at: https://historicengland.org.uk/listing/the-list/list-entry/1195097
