A ScotRail High Speed Train (HST) stands at Nairn station awaiting a service from Inverness to clear the single line ahead to Inverness. The Inter7City trains were introduced to provide a more suitable long distance train than the Turbostar DMUs that are on the route. Eventually these trains will be fully refurbished to have power doors and a buffet car.
