A telephoto shot from the Boys Lane bridle track, taken on a wet June morning. The pylons are vertical, but the signal post and the electricity poles aren't. Since the cessation of coal traffic (Thoresby Colliery, Nottinghamshire's last mine, closed in 2015) the line from Shirebrook to Tuxford has been used by Network Rail as a test track (see Image] ). The signal box is a standard Great Central Railway type, built when the colliery branch was opened after the GCR had taken over the Lancashire, Derbyshire & East Coast Railway.
