Looking up Crown Hill from its junction with Surrey Street. The old building at the top is the Whitgift Almshouses dating from 1596 and still in use as sheltered accommodation for elderly people. In the background is the 101 George Street development consisting of two towers, one of 44 storeys and the other 38 storeys. It is being described as the tallest modular tower in the world, with 1500 modules manufactured and fitted out at a facility in Bedford. The development will comprise 546 flats.
