These red-flowered opium poppies (Papaver somniferum) were flourishing on a concrete and pebble bank just below Mann Street in this car park. Difficult to imagine how they came to be there especially as they only grow on this part of the embankment. The low-growing plants towards the bottom right of the picture are ivy-leaved toadflax (Cymbalaria muralis).
