About 50 allotments are to be found here for use by the residents of Berwick and surrounding area. They are always so well tended. To the right can be seen an old ice house, built in the late 18th century, which belonged to the Berwick Salmon Fishing Company. This stored ice all year round and it was used to keep the fish fresh when they were packed in ice. There are several other ice houses in Berwick.
