Seen from Court Road, Tarnwood Park was built in the 1960s on land that had been part of the Eltham Palace estate and was still in Crown ownership at the time. Several large villas were demolished to make way for 140 maisonettes. In 1990 the freehold was purchased by the Tarnwood Park Residents Society which manages the estate.
