The original Watch Office or Control Tower was this three-storey square building, built it is thought in early 1939 alongside Knightstone House, then a requisitioned property. It continued in use as a Plotting Room after the second Watch Office was built and opened in 1942. It also was the Headquarters for both 78 Signals Wing (1941), and later in 1944 838 Squadron Fleet Air Arm. Part of the building was also used in October 1941 as their Headquarters by the newly formed No. 276 Air Sea Rescue Squadron, before they moved to Ravenscroft House in February 1943. It is now the popular Knightstone Tea Rooms aka Abigails at Knightstone. Image
