Looking east from The Gow. The chapel was founded as a Bible Christian Church, a Methodist denomination founded in 1815 by Wesleyan preacher William O'Bryan. The chapel was home to Portloe Methodist Church more recently, but now the Methodists and Anglicans meet together as Portloe United Church.
