A substantial residence has probably existed here for a thousand years. The main structure is Elizabethan and is attributed to Thomas Mulso who was Lord of the Manor from 1562 to 1608. The considerably embellished exterior that you see today was done in the 1800’s by William Mackworth-Dolben.
