Beneath the window is the Dolben family crypt (the two plaques provide information) which contain the remains of many members of the Dolben and Mackworth Dolben families who lived at Finedon Hall. The Dolbens were originally from North Wales where they had large estates. The family had many ecclesiastical members which included David Dolben Bishop of St Asaph in Flintshire (1631) and John Dolben Archbishop of York (1638).
