The village has a splendid new feature: this is the newest market cross constructed in the county for well over a century. Planned as part of the development of the area close to the church, it was crafted in 2010 from local Cotswold stone and oak timbers. Surrounding it are some granite stones, set into the ground, that commemorate the Diamond Jubilee of 2012; they also denote the various spellings of the village over the centuries - for example the Domesday Book records it as 'Getone' in 1086.
