Built as a Congregational church in 1914-1916 in 'arts and crafts' style to replace a 1839 chapel on the same site. The 1909 O.S. map shows the older chapel, a smaller building, with "B.G." (burial ground?) marked in front of it. Not listed yet, but a fine example of a church of its time. It is now a joint Methodist / United Reformed congregation.
