The Grammar School, Hipperholme

On the side wall there is a marble plaque recording that the school was founded in 1848 and reconstituted in 1880. It lists the governors at that time, and the headmaster was the Rev. John Henry Stork, MA. The school was restored in 1881 and the headmaster's house built in 1882. At the foot is the architect's name, R Horsfall.
