The Sacred Heart Roman Catholic church was built in 1899. Its exterior features rock-faced coursed dressed sandstone with red sandstone ashlar dressings beneath slate roofs. There is a square tower at the east end. The church is a Grade II listed building (Historic England List Entry Number: 1391575 https://historicengland.org.uk/listing/the-list/list-entry/1391575 ).
