This junction outside the town hall used to be very congested, but has become somewhat quieter since the bypass was constructed and High Street made one-way. It was even quieter on this occasion as through traffic was being diverted for the annual Transport Festival, allowing for an uninterrupted view of the shops on the junction - Chatwins bakers, which has expanded into the unit vacated by Welsbys Image, William R Shoes, and between them a recently closed shop that had most recently been Badged (school uniforms).
