These blocks of flats first appear on an OS map of 1963. Nearest is Kentmere Tower, then Glendale Tower, Fairbourn Tower and, furthest, Normanton Tower. Behind the camera there was Burcombe Tower, now demolished for redevelopment on the site. The fine mature trees speak of an earlier existence in the gardens of detached houses along the present Sutton Road. They looked well-established on a map of 1887. Lyndhurst (Norlands before 1937) was the largest. Photograph taken soon after 8pm, mid-June.
