Peden's Cave

This cave, inside the rock on the left, is really well hidden from sight. Access is from above, down a few stone steps, followed by a scramble into the entrance on the side that overhangs the Water of Lugar. Big enough to accommodate a person, its name comes from the famous Covenanting preacher, Alexander Peden, who was an active figure at the time and who often had to hide from government forces.
