Seen at a distance from the path down from Hunt's Cliff, the baroque Zetland Hotel was built in 1863 with its own private railway platform, to cater for the rapidly growing popularity of seaside holidays. Following the late 20th century decline in the popularity of such holidays, it was converted into apartments in 1989.
