One of the green areas in West Reading. Locals take a pride in their park and have formed a "friends of" group to keep it tidy and help maintain it. Every March a spring clean takes place in the parks and rivers called RESCUE (Rivers and Environmental Spaces Clean Up Event). William McIlroy, who ran a family department store in Reading, donated the land for the park to Reading. He had bought the land to ensure the view from his property would not be spoiled.
