Norcot Road is a major route from north-west to south-west Reading but as it goes through residential areas there is a lorry ban. To help enforce the ban traffic calming has been installed here on Norcot Road, consisting of two 6'6" channels for cars, with a bus lane either side. It seems to work; lorry drivers could choose to go through the bus lane, but there are frequent Police checks at either end of the route.
