The north side of Prospect Park abuts Tilehurst Road to the left, which runs eastwards down towards Reading town centre. Running along the western edge of the park is Honey End Lane. I am still trying to find the history of the name (possibly something to do with being a more pleasant part of the town). But when I first came to Reading I wondered why people kept referring to a certain road as "Onion Lane".
