I am unsure how the numbering works here. On the gate appears the number 28 and on the smaller cottage visible on the left is a sign that reads 'Pheasant Cottage'. The record on the English Heritage website refers to 28 and 29 as having been listed Grade II in 1955 and that they date from the 16th century or earlier. There is no image to refer to however. This is the relevant web page http://www.imagesofengland.org.uk/details/default.aspx?id=318314 should anyone wish to inquire further. I have read elsewhere that these cottages are probably of a similar type to those that once stood in the abandoned village of Snap seen here Image
