The upper notice records that the nearby Five Locks Moorings on the Monmouthshire and Brecon Canal were officially opened on May 24th 1997. The lower notice records that the moorings are located at the end of a 25 mile canal pound, commencing at Llangynidr providing an opportunity for further restoration of this historic waterway through a continuing partnership project.
