Even in 1981, southbound traffic though here was heavy and subject to delays. We see a Leyland National single-decker on Route 405, which then ran West Croydon to Crawley, (earlier it had been all the way to Horsham via Crawley). Now in 2007 the 405 runs only as far as Radhill, but a very good 15 minute service is provided using Metrobus Omnidekker double-deckers.
