This tramway linked the Benallt Manganese Mine Image with the shipping point at Porth Ysgo.In the early years this was a horse drawn tramway. Later a small engine was bought from a Blaenau Ffestiniog Quarry, which in turn was replaced by a brand new engine named "Rhiw".
