Metal plate attached to stone post by the A47(T), in parish of Fransham (Breckland District), 500m East of last house in village, on the verge backed by field, on North side of road. Dereham iron plate, erected by the Norwich & Swaffham turnpike trust in the 19th century. Inscription reads:- DEREHAM 5 SWAFFHAM 7 Carved bench mark on South face. Milestone Society National ID: NO_NSM20
