Cast iron post from the A52, in parish of Cheadle (Staffordshire Moorlands District), was at Rue Hill, Cotton, now Hales View Farm, in collection of Les Oakes, indoors (was - SK08554777). Lathe iron casting, erected by the County Council in the 19th/20th century. Inscription reads:- : FROGHALL 4½ / CHEADLE 6¼ / HANLEY 14 / STOKE 15 / NEWCASTLE 16½ : : COTTON : : ASHBOURNE 7¼ : Maker:- : Chas. Lathe, Tipton. : Grade II listed.
