“Tommy”, one of many silhouette figures placed around the county in 2018 to mark the 100th anniversary of the end of World War I. The silhouettes are near life-size and can be fixed to a wall or attached to an upright post in public or private spaces as here at St Helens’ Sutton Park. The silhouettes have at their base the words 'Lest we Forget' and business or community groups were able to buy and sponsor a silhouette and have its name incorporated in the base wording, as an act of Remembrance and supporting the valuable work of The Royal British Legion (https://www.britishlegion.org.uk/remembrance/ww1-centenary/thank-you/how-to-get-involved/silent-silhouettes/ Silent Silhouettes).
