Metal plate attached to stone post by the A669, in parish of Saddleworth (Oldham District), Oldham Road, Grasscroft, junction with Parkfield Road, by the road, on North side of road. Brayshaw & Booth iron casting, erected by the County Council in the 19th century. Inscription reads:- : HUDDERSFIELD / 15 MILES / HOLMFIRTH / 11½ MILES / UPPERMILL / 1½ MILES : : OLDHAM & STANDEDGE / ROAD / SHAWMERE LD : : MANCHESTER / 10¾ MILES / OLDHAM / 3¾ MILES : Hole in top. Maker:- : BRAYSHAW & BOOTH / MAKERS / LIVERSEDGE : Milestone Society National ID: YW_ODSD03
