Carved stone post by the UC road, in parish of Sandwich (Dover District), Deal Road, Northeast of roundabout with the A258, back of verge, on East side of road. Sandwich limestone block, erected by the Dover, Deal to Sandwich turnpike trust in the 19th century. Inscription reads:- : DEAL / 5 : : SANDWICH / 1 / LONDON / 69 : Rivet benchmark on top. Kent HER.
