Carved stone post by the A1017, in parish of Birdbrook (Braintree District), 110m Northeast of Rosemary Cottage; 230m Southwest of Baythorpe Hall, on verge, on North side of road. Erected by the Halstead (Division of Essex First District) turnpike trust in the 19th century. Inscription reads:- (3) (to) Haverhill 12 to Halstead Grade II listed.
