Carved stone post by the A646, in parish of Blackshaw (Calderdale District), Halifax Road; Charlestown, against North wall of Callis Mill, now workshop for Rochdale Canal, on narrow pavement, opposite 'Bends' sign, on South side of road. Todmorden vertical, erected by the Todmorden turnpike trust in the 19th century. Inscription reads:- : TODMORDEN / 3 MILES : : HALIFAX / 8(¾) MILES : Grade II listed.
