Stone post (plate lost) by the A268, in parish of Ticehurst (Rother District), Hawkhurst Road, Flimwell, West of Mark Lilly Diesel car showroom, back of verge by wire fence, on North side of road. Rye iron plate, erected by the Rye turnpike trust in the 19th century. Inscription once read:- (LONDON) (45) (RYE) (17½) Rivet benchmark on top. East Sussex HER.
