Carved stone post by the A629, in parish of Kirkburton (Kirklees District), Abbey Road, Shepley, opposite No 177, on narrow path near junction with Lydgate Road, on North side of road. Huddersfield triangle, erected by the Huddersfield & Penistone turnpike trust in the 18th century. Inscription reads:- : TO / HUDDERSFIELD / 7 / MILES : : TO / PENISTONE / 5½ / MILES : Hole in top.
