Carved stone post by the A3, in parish of Putney (Wandsworth District), Kingston Road, East of boundary to Putney Vale cemetery, against wooden barrier on abutments to pedestrian subway, on South side of road. Surrey limestone pillar, erected by the Surrey & Sussex turnpike trust in the 18th century. Inscription reads:- : ROYAL / EXCHANGE / (9) / MILES : : WHITEHALL / 8½ / MILES : Milestone Society National ID: SY_LP09
