Metal plate attached to stone post by the B2177, in parish of Shedfield (Winchester District), New Place, cross roads North of Shedfield Common, opposite turn to Samuels Rest PH, by the road, on West side of road. Gosport plate, erected by the Gosport, Bishops Waltham, Wickham & Chawton turnpike trust in the 19th century. Inscription reads:- BᴾˢWaltham 3 Miles GOSPORT 10 Miles Milestone Society National ID: HA_GOBW10
