Stone post (plate lost) by the UC road (was A37), in parish of Ilchester (South Somerset District), near Moorlands Farm on old part of A37 North of Ilchester, on grass verge in front of hedge, on East side of road. Ilchester iron shield, erected by the Ilchester turnpike trust in the 18th century. Inscription once read:- (Shepton Mallet 14) (Ilchester 1) Carved benchmark mid lower front. Somerset HER.
